There really is hardly ever total "chaos" because we have WAY too many variables in life and in the world which would have to alter their 'normal course of action' and "systems of being" in order for real chaos to exist.
But i think there may be "crackle chaos" where we can hear, see, think and feel and then respond to the possibilities of change resonating from the past or emanating from the future. Cumulative change may alter behavior but it must take alot of "snap, crackle and pops" for an entire system to veer off course significantly. But we just call it "crisis". It gets dark before it gets light?
One of my favourite psalms is 139. It says (much more eloquently than i do!!) that God/de is present both in the light and the dark. People forget that. David tries to remind us that we are not forsaken or abandoned in the chaos, or, as we say, "in the crisis", in the dark where the way is not clear. I think, this is my greatest strength - my faith. Faith in the 'unseen'. Faith in the dark.
I am a speck in the space of the cosmos but that is not chaos, not even crisis, it is comforting to know i'm surrounded but i also know that if i move, breath, speak, express, smile, cry, console - i change the universe.
I once knew a young man, aged twenty one, who, because of meningitus, could not speak, hear, move or see. He was G-tube fed and needed 24/7 care. He died at twenty two. The church was filled. Tears flowed and the caretakers and family and friends of this dear soul spoke eloquently about how much they learned from him. The experience teaches us: all of of us are part of "it"!! Hold the faith.....if you're able or interested.
